Is there atv travel out there just around the landing area
|@ the lake|
Had 6" under the slush at the landing. 8" on main lake and the far North East side was still wide open. Geese prevented it from forming on first freeze of December. Had fun with the kids out there. Some slick spots but mostly snow covered
I was wondering if they switched to a slot limit yet like they were talking about. I’m all for catch and release but it would nice to thin out a lot of the smaller pike.
Flags fly pretty steady here and at cedar. Great for kids! Very difficult to get anything legal or worth bragging about though!
Thanks gripper, I will research those as well and maybe change my mind!
Fellow flag chasers...I am taking my newphews ice fishing for the first time as they just moved to Wisconsin in summer. They love fishing, but never on the ice so it should be a thrill. Plus they each got 2 tip ups from me for Christmas they are excited to use. They live in Manitowoc and I am coming from Madison area so going out on a whim and picking this lake (not many choices around here!).
Planning on just throwing shiners somewhere in medium depth and hoping to see flags fly and each kid pull out their first fish through the ice and teaching them how all this stuff works. If anyone has some suggestions for where to set up, I would be happy to trade information for Rock Lake, Beaver Dam, Fox Lake, Monona Lake etc.
We will be out Saturday morning 8-1 or so, no shanty just 3 kids ages 12, 11,10 and me running around, so if you plan on being on the lake and think you see us, stop by and we can swap stories. May your flags fly! -
FishHunt, I plan to fish Wilke next week, and haven't fished there in a few years. Are there any areas I should avoid? I always use caution but an extra heads up might help. I plan to fish west of the boat launch and not venture out too far. Thanks.
21° - 25° F
Checked ice today. Had 4-5 inches. Guys were out fishing.
