Was out a couple days ago with my daughter and grand daughters on a friends pontoon boat, With the water as high as it is we could not find any kind of sandy beach area to park and let the kids play, We did find a shallow area to park and let the kids swim.
I had a couple rods with me and some beaver tail worms, threw one out well anchored near shore with just a bobber and plain hook and got 4 real nice size gills and about a 15" bass. Didn't plan to keep anything just let the grand kids reel them in and let em go. Strange to get them on a hot sunny afternoon in only about 4 fow over a few weeds, Thinking I should go back with my fishing boat early morning to target some gills.
On a sad note lots of damage all around the lake to many homes and cottages on the lake from the big storm last week. Many huge trees ripped out and still laying on top of roofs. Clean up will take a long time and some places may never be the same and even need to be torn down.
