Fished Saturday from about 9:30am to 6:30PM. Fished the east side of the sunken island, and out in the main lake in anywhere from 13ft to 22ft of water. We caught 2 walleye that were just about 6", a good handful of perch (5 - 9"), and one crappie (8"). as the second to the last group out there on Saturday the landing was very bad, I would not drive on it it can be avoided.
Below 40° F
36° - 40° F
41° - 45° F
Goose99; I was out there this past Saturday with the kids and we drove onto the lake with my truck. There were a few trucks out on the ice too but the landing was getting bad. I didn't physically measure the ice thickness (hence why I didn't report the ice depth) but it took my auger down close to the top of the flights to cut through. We were fishing more in the middle of the lake and only marked a few but didn't catch any. I wasn't really trying either since the kids just wanted to try it out once. Hope that helps.
Curious how the ice is doing/how this lake gets late season. I’ve only ever fished white clay early in the year and know the lake has several creeks running in and out of it. Planning on making one last trip out there this weekend if the ice is good to go. Will be on foot.
Still dead out here? Could someone give me tips on where to go for keeper panfish
26° - 30° F
Fished Saturday 9-4
White Clay continues to behave as it has all ice season.....tons of lookers and chasers, NOTHING WILL COMMIT. Marked 100's of fish all day suspended in the basin, used every color and bait I had...but no success. Managed to pull in 2 9in perch on tipdowns. Some vehicles out, some large full size diesels. There were a couple of spots I measured 9". I wouldnt drive a large truck on 11" of ice.....But i guess thats just me. One guy was driving out there and made several trips from the landing and back again doing 35-40mph....i dont understand some people......
Anyone have any updated info about ice conditions? Thanks in advance!!
How’s the ice all throughout the lake? Looking to head out tonight
Only place to park is at the public boat launch. Fishing has been very slow. Crappies will look at your baits and move off. Caught smaller northerns along west shore in the weeds. no keepers yet.
Planning to fish this lake for my first time. Any recommendations on where to find some fish? Also wondering where I can park?
Wheeler traffic yet? Or did the warm weather and freezing rain mess that up?
