Fished two Waupaca County streams today. Caught 1 small brown at the first one and 4 browns & a brookie at the next one. I kept the 10" brookie, but the browns are still swimming. Nothing very big today. Thought it was going to be a better morning! All fish caught on a spinner.

Walked the willow late afternoon. Water still high. Should have left the waders home they filled up rather quick. Hated to keep the small female but she swallowed the 1/4 oz. Panther martin. The male put up an epic battle one of the best all year.
Nice little walk in the willow today. On and off sprinkles, tossed 1/4 oz rooster tail. Trout were fairly active, released the females kept these 2 males for the smoker
Tried 3 streams in the area. Two small brook trout streams were pretty much unfishable with the high grass over the water. I would not even tell where one of them went without almost falling in.
I fished the Willow a little while and caught a huge chub. I think maybe I was too far downstream for this time of the years.
Still waiting for me first Central Sands trout.
Fished a Waushara County stream this afternoon. Stream was a little high, but almost back to normal and was fairly clear. Gold spinners out produced other artificials today. Two guys, kept 4 browns between 9-12".
Reel - After fishing the Pine for the first time today I'm impressed with your ability to catch nice browns out of there. One section I fished I could pretty much catch little brookies at will. One section there was barely any water, and the last section looked great. It had deep holes, timber in the water, and lots of "trouty" looking places. Unfortunately, I didn't even get a hit at that spot. I saw a school of brookies and had a decent brown follow, but in that stretch I expected to get bit anytime and it didn't happen. It was pretty disappointing.
I also tried the Willow. I caught about a 9" brown and had 2 others get off. Nothing big though. Can't say I'm a big fan of the Willow, either. The second stop I made on it was so narrow I climbed right out of the water and walked back to my car. Oh well, it was much better than working!
Took a four hour walk today. Lots of keepers caught and released.
What's every ones favorite brine recipe when ya smoke your trout?? PM me we'll exchange recipes
A pig of a male brown today close to home measured in at just over 18" after cleaning him out found a mouse in it's belly .... really surprised he bit with a stomach full already 1/4 oz rooster tail was my choice for the day, cloudy sky

Fished n Waupaca at the river at hwy Q to the bridge over tomorrow river road. Tried nymphs, wooly buggers and crickets/beetles. Nothing. On the river from 400 to 630 .Only saw one small finger sized trout the whole time.
Friday fish fry thanks to the pine The big girls were biting today, landed this one at just over 20" and lost one probably a bit bigger. Snapped the 6 lb fireline while putting on an aerial show. 1/4 oz rooster tail was served up today. Ended up harvesting this one and one just under 15"
