Fished a few Waupaca county lakes over the last few days. Water temps ranged in the low 50's on some deeper lakes to the lower 60's yesterday afternoon on the Iola millpond. Caught a few hammerhandle pike on Iola.

Fished a couple little lakes again sunday morning.... 9 bass, biggest at maybe 17" and a little pike. Nice morning for a paddle and a few were caught anyway
Hit a couple small Waupaca county lakes yesterday morning for bass. Wind made controlling the kayak really tough, no bass, saw a few. 3 pike and a handful of bluegills on bass tackle. That was it. Lakes have lots of potential but sure didnt produce yesterday.
Three carp Memorial day morning. 7.4, 11.9, and 13.8 lbs. I hesitate to post because I don't want 50 carp guys hitting my lake but on the other hand, carp are the dominant fish here and a few taken out probably won't hurt. I actually release them back in. Just using corn on a hook and patience. Oh yeah, Spencer Lake.
Fished a small Waupaca county lake this morning from 7-1030 or so. Ended up with 46 largemouth, none smaller than 12, none larger than 15". Pretty standard for that lake. Also had a pike bite me off on 2 consecutive casts. The first time, it was right at the hookset, second time I got him up to the side of my kayak and then he broke loose. Close enough I could see my lizard from the previous cast hanging out of his mouth. Has a matching set now I guess.
Spencer Lake is a good lake for carp. Lately I'm up every weekend and catch 2-4 that average about 8 lbs. Seeing a bowfisherman on this lake is becoming more common. I use corn for bait.
