how is the landing? are they still driving out?
I would like to know when it is safe to walk out on the ice on wapo or Bear Trap.
36° - 40° F
Fished Saturday, seen alot of perch on the camera in 19-26 ft. They were extremely finicky, although the bite was picking up right as the sun was going down.
Anybody on Wapo this morning how is the bite
Left a black Fleet Farm Bucket with ice fishing gear and a Milwaukee 5 amp battery at the boat launch on Wappogasset Lake in Polk County , Wi yesterday Jan 9th. If you found it please call 651-269-7177. Reward! Thanks! J. Storer
Anyone know how thick the ice is on Wapogasset or Bear? Anyone driving ATV's out there? How's the bite?
31° - 35° F
Went out for about 6 hours Sunday afternoon, fished the east side of the lake in about 5-15 feet of water. Healthy green weeds still out to about 10 feet. Tried out the new marcum camera and first hole saw a northern and a few perch swimming around thought game on and then sat without a flag or bite the whole day. Never fished here before so either the fish weren't biting or i don't know what i'm doing lol. Ice was a solid 5 inches where we were at with a minimal snow cover and little pockets of slush but nothing bad.
that is extremely helpful thank you!
I was on Wapo last Saturday ... I walked out from Waterside Bar on the North end of the lake and there was roughly 7-8" of ice .... couple inches of slush on top of that ... and a couple inches of snow on top of the slush. So it was walkable ... but the walk back to the landing was rough trudging through the snow and slush. Sorry I couldn't help you with the East landing.
