Just went over there today, and the entire north shore of the lake is just overflowing with dead fish. The majority of them are carp, but there were many pike, with one having to be in the high 30s. Just very irresponsible of them to not think about the fish when they drained the lake.
Really dumb of them!! I drive by there quite often and it looks like a cattail swamp! CARPIO
What a waste there was some really nice pike and bass in this lake. To not remove them when you draw the water down 4' when most of the lake is 4' to fix a beach is irresponsible. I thought the WDNR responsibility was to protect the resource not eliminate it.
Thank you for the information. It’s too bad that these geniuses didn’t do this when they drew the lake down to repair the dam.
They are doing a combo beach improvement and milfoil kill.
Probably 80% of the lake is dry.
I drove past there today and it looked like there was only 5 gallons of water left.lol. Seriously though it looks low even for a yak. Maybe 90% dry. CARPIO
Snorkel thanks for the video! It is great to see nice size fish in there. Is it fishable from the big public pier?
First week of October
Cold and rainy
Anyone know why they are keeping the lake drawn down for such a long time for some beach improvement? If they don't let it refill fast there is going to be fish kill as it's down a good 6 feet and it's highly likely fish will get trapped in the 1 foot of slop that is practically the whole lake.
Looks like they are really milking the beach construction.
