The fall pattern seems to be starting on the TFF.  We caught lots of walleyes in depths of 24 to 30 feet. All we used was fatheads on jigs and a few on slip bobbers. A lot nicer day this Sunday than the last two with light winds and very few boats . Ryan a police officer from Chicago and Greg enjoyed a 3 hour trip.

Well folks, It's now 10:45 and the snow is still coming down hard. It did pause briefly around 10 then got going like it never stopped. It's real hard to tell here how much has fallen since the wind is coming off the lake blowing most of it to my neighbors yard. In my yard would say there has been at least 4". Friends off the lake on both sides of town say they got 6-7" already as of 10:30. The radar currently shows snow all the way down to Madison. The low is pretty much over lake michigan right now and we are on the back side of its circular path. Can see this with the north winds off of Big Arb. Looks like this may be the first time the wife gets to use her new snowblower. Too bad she already has shoveled once tonight.

Currently the temp is 31.8 with winds from the North at 8 gusting to 17 here on the southern shores of Big Arb. The lake is now rumbling something fierce. I can tell you this, it is not making noise from forming ICE!!!

Kinda wish I had not drilled holes yesterday out front of my place. Slush is going to be horrible as the snow drifts into my shoreline. CURSES!!!!

No other fishing reports today as most were done and off the lakes by the time the snow started. Doubt many will be out tomorrow.

Some good has come from this for me. It will be the first time in at least 2 months I get to watch and laugh at Gillespie.

Will let you know HOW MUCH SNOW WE GET, HOW MUCH SNOW WE GET, HOW MUCH SNOW WE GET??? LOLL.

Tight lines, tight lines, tight lines,

Steve

Looking for some advice- I was directed here because I'm looking for a place to plan a winter camping/ice fishing trip, specifically one where I could get away from a lot of people. It was suggested to me to try one of the islands on the TFF. Any suggestions/comments? I've not fished the flowage before. The trip would be in early January.

Thanks in advance, tight lines

Matt

wantwarmweather, I tip-up fish the Turtle quite a bit in the winter, mostly on Horshoe Lake, and we always seemed to do best on 3-5 inch sucker minnows. Hope this helps
