Went out on Thursday and fishing was incredible.... all very small fish but great fighters and kept the kids well entertained. Bluegills, crappie, and LM Bass were all hammering the worms we were using..many swallowed the hook completely.

Had another fun 90 mins of fishing with the kids. Caught 2 LM Bass, 1 Crappie and numerous bluegills. Best fish was an 8" bluegill. Wind picked up from the east and fishing was shut down, wind calmed down and fishing picked back up.

Went out on Sunday 1-3:30p and got 1 bluegill [5"] and 1 crappie [5 1/2"]. Very busy and great seeing people come out to fish. Water was very cold and no fish seen around the piers
I'd be up to go out there with you Doanld....
Any update? Have seen others on the lake but no report... would love to take my 4 kids out there and see what can be caught!
Thanks for the info, I had no clue! Which tourney are you talking about? I know they have a kids derby in the spring, but haven't heard of any others.

Spent 2.5 hours on the lake this morning soaking shiners with no results. Ice was good once you got past the edges. Edges had about 4-5" of ice. Another few days of warm rain and you'll probably want to walk in from the fishing pier.
Regarding the post below about Christmas trees, I've been around Jackson for some time now and have never seen trees on the ice, so unless they're doing it the hard way from a boat, it's not happening.
SE corner of the lake is where the locals from the apartments and trailer park sink their Christmas Tress. Area is stellar for dink gills and crappies. Check the old holes with a vex or camera you'll see.
