Can anyone report on the water conditions? How long before it gets "green" color-or doesn't it? Only drove by it once last summer, seemed like it did have a green tinge then. Never fished it before, and would like to before it gets scummy. Thanks in advance!

I fished today and i drove my full size pick up on the ice. Ice was 18" everywhere.  Just remember  To stay in a travel of where everyone else was. I cannot recommend travel you off the beaten path.. As fire is what I caught today it was very slow and small.

Anyone have an ice thickness report?  Cant get back up for 2 weeks and am getting nervous about the warm weather.  This was my son taking 1st place in the bluegill division during the jamboree.

Is the ice fishing contest scheduled for this weekend? Found a post from Feb 9 of last year, but can't find anything else searching online

Thanks Bret. I usually do catch and release on pike and 100 percent on bass. Just want to try getting tip up action while pan fishing.

At times the tip up fishing can be very good on the lake. Keep in mind you are only allowed to keep one pike and it must be 32 inches or longer. And only one bass can be kept and it must be at least 18 inches long. I have seen some big pike caught and released the last 2 years and I don't get on this lake but a few times a year.

How is the tip up fishing on this lake. Never fished the lake.  I'm from the la crosse area and I'm looking at getting away from the area for the next couple weekends.  They are having 3 derbies the next 3 Saturday's in a row.  Not looking for anyone's honey hole or that. Thanks
