greybeard - they used to make what was called a "shallow water" swish rod....it had a smaller reel (about 1/2 the size) and it had a spring bobber - the kind that clamped on the rod between the tip top and the next guide with the tip of the spring bobber lining up with the tip of the swish rod.

midnight

p.s. - a freind of mine had 2 off them - i'll check to see if he still has them - could get a picture of 1 then

3 of us fished here yesterday from 7-12 and we limited out. I used plastics and the other 2 used spikes. Just like the earlier post said keep it moving while raising and lowering.

I have been finding great gills and crappies in the triangles. Fished several times already this year. Was happy with the number of fish I caught so I started trying different stuff to catch the bigger ones. Don't have an underwater camera. But if you keep your bait in the upper half of the depth you are fishing, use a larger jig or better yet use plastics, and keep it moving, you will catch less fish but they will tend to be bigger. I have caught some monsters out there. Good Luck
