Fished north of Hudson last 2 days. Panfish are on structure. Gotta sort through sunnies but some nice ones. Also a few big crappies.  Boat traffic bad. But the fish are active if you can find the structure up there.  Even caught several perch just a little too small. Jig/crawler piece.

Pulled docks most likely in anticipation of the rising water after the last few days of heavy rains.  As the Mississippi raises so does the St. Croix.  Bummer, 'ld muddy just fell back into its banks and fishing was picking up.

Trolled sticks again north of Hudson. LOTS of crap in the water. Big sticks and scum. Got a few walleyes, only 1 keeper.

FYI...when I went out shortly after 6, the docks were in. When I came back 9:30 or so, they had pulled the Hudson docks.

Trolled north of Hudson this morning a bit. A few eyes, only a couple of keepers. Marked a lot of fish 12 feet and deeper. Seemed to be a very early bite on the stick baits. Talked to a couple of guys when I came in and they had the same luck. Couple here and there. But there are fish hitting.

Just FYI the docks were pulled out and in the lot at Hudson when I went by there yesterday. High water and more coming.

Trolled sticks north of Hudson late afternoon yesterday couple of hours. Really first true fishing of the season for me. Lots of fish. Crappies very active. Got a nice northern. Even a couple of decent perch. Sheep of course. Kept two walleye and two crappies for a meal. 10-15 ft. Bright colors.

Anyone willing to share info on sturgeon fishing in the Hudson area? I’ve done my homework on parking, access, maps ect. What I can’t find are actual fishing reports. PM me is you’d rather. I can trade info on petenwell lake as well.

Wife and I went out on Friday and found 7" of solid clear ice.  By Monday, there was 14" and vehicles driving all over the place.  Caught a couple 11" crappies, a 14" striper and an 18" walleye just off the North Hudson Landing.  We tried all different depths.  River is about 35 deep in this area.  The ice seems safe to drive on, but there are always the idiots that feel they have to drive fast between shacks.  Stay on the paths please.  Good luck.

This "river" we speak of is more like a bay and is quite safe; however, there is no such thing as completely safe ice. Most of the folks here are locals and are well versed on this body of water. For those who are willing to wander off the beaten path, good luck.
