Mixed bag on Smith this afternoon.  BLuegills in the 7 1/2" to 8" range and crappies     8 1/2" to 9 1/2" kept.  Some sorting required for each species.   They were in 21 feet of water and hit on glow jigs and gold jigs.  The bigger crappies hit on 1/8oz green glow rattlemaster tipped with a crappie eye!  Good luck out there and keep your stick on the ice.

Smith Lake launch is still very shallow and if you don't have a truck with four wheel drive you take the risk of getting stuck in the soft sand bottom if you drive out to far. I have seen more than on person bury their car at this launch so be careful.

It has been a couple years since I have been there but I was able to pull some Crappie and LMB out. One caution is the boat launch is very shallow. If you have a higher bunk trailer and the water is down, you may have the whole truck in the water before the boat floats off. This was a couple years ago so maybe the launch has been re-worked.
