Went with my 13 year old son Wednesday afternoon. We used crawler harnesses with night crawlers and caught 8 fish in 2 hours, one of them being a catfish that he was excited to bring in. We trolled the area by the launch and got a nice bass trolling the channel on the way back to the launch. This was our first time fishing here, we usually do Big Cedar a couple days per week. We will be fishing here again soon!

First time on Silver today. Nice little lake. Fished off the weed edges and picked up a few bass. My eight year old had a blast catching the little blue gills that are everywhere. Caught a few eater size gills under floating rafts - small hair jigs tipped with crawlers were the difference in catching the bigger ones. All fish were released.
I was out Saturday looking for them but couldn't find any.
Has anyone been out for crappie yet this spring? Any luck?

I was out at 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. the ice was 7 inches when I first got out. 2 flags on panfish tip-ups 0 fish. Last day for me this ice season! It was a very short and great season.

First time that I got skunked on this lake ever ice fishing. I was jigging today something nice hit my jig, the hook hit the bottom of the ice and it was off.
Ice is thin just off shore, I fell in just south of channel only got a wet foot. Channel between the kettle and main lake has an ice dam, open water where the sewer pipe runs. I suggest if you a going on the main lake from the boat launch to hung the east side of the channel and walk over the pier.
Today would have been a great day to have my kids with me. I had 6 flags caught 5 northern pike, smallest was 16" biggest was 22". I set the hook on 1 of them and at first it felt like at least a keeper, then it felt much lighter. Another northern had the 1 I hooked in it's mouth, I know this because the 1 I caught had teeth marks on it.
