After fishing for small perch we trolled for a while off the state park launch and PK caught a huge sheepshead. The water was 79 degrees and there were a bunch of floating weeds to dodge. Tons of rec boaters out on a pleasant windless afternoon.

Gave the last days of perch fishing on the Bay a shot and did better than usual. Almost went to Dead Horse but the clear waters of Sawyer were great for using my camera. You could see the small ones come up and pull the bait away and the big ones were hungry and aggressive too. Ended up with eight; with half being in the 9-8 inch range with one at ten. Most bites were from 8-9 o'clock in the morning. The fish got pickier after that. Minnows and their heads were a waste of time but wax worms did great. Never saw a whitefish in that bay. Fished 15 foot depths. Whitey must have gone deeper.

Slow fishing, just a few small perch
There was 8-9” in back bay Sunday. Fished three times in last two weeks and never had a flag for Pike. Did have small pesky perch one day tripping tip-up. 4 wheelers were out but not trucks. Several large ships went through channel so stay inside points. I don’t know how thick ice towards the points as I always stay inside but there were a couple tents/people fishing inside the points on Sunday. Didn’t see anyone with a flag on Sunday either. Good luck.
I am wondering about in the back of the bay, is it enough for four wheelers?
Tony; I see this is your second post. Sometimes if you read earlier posts you might get some clues. Five days ago JamesD posted a fishing report. Please report how you did and update the ice thickness. Good luck!
Any ice or fishing report? Going up this weekend

When we marched to get out past 40 yards of crunch ice the slick stuff measured 4 inches in all the holes PK and I drilled. Fished sand bottom just off the rocks in 12FOW and saw small perch come by occasionally sniffing at the wax worms. The jigging spoon brought in one nice 11 incher and then a 9. PK dumped an 8 in my bucket and a couple other dinks. Nice sunny cold day and a big boat and some tugs crashed thru the channel in front of us. Don't know how the guys in the back Bay did.
Any word on ice conditions. Making the trip today. Truck travel or atv?
