Rockland Lake

The the 2 slobs in the Eskimo pop up that left at around 4pm this afternoon, don't worry I cleaned up the beer cans you threw in your old holes and all of the other debris you left laying on the ice as well. Thank you for the extra fishing equipment that you left behind as well!!!

As for fishing it was a lousy as the 2 slobs on the ice!!!

There's no boat launch on the lake, but there is a public access right off Durand Rd (County E, which was the old Hwy 11).  I've launched canoes and a small rowboat there before, but it's carry in access only.  I think where you went is probably the YMCA camp, which is not public access.

The people didn’t look too happy to see me there. I think there might’ve been a no trespassing sign up by the main road? But the right side of the road at the bottom appeared to head towards the lake. Thanks I advance! 😊

Is there any public access to Rockland Lake? Last year I went down a hill that was like a driveway, at the bottom of the hill on the left side there was a woman and man getting out of 

Checked out the lake today. I found anything from 2.5" to 6" of ice. Crazy. If you venture out tomorrow, be advised that the ice thins considerably to the right. This ice had some snow on it so must have frozen slightly before the big squall. The best ice I found was angled to the left out in 12' of water. Fished for an hour. Never marked anything and no bites. Felt wonderful to finally get out this Winter. I plan on fishing Wednesday and Thursday somewhere. Reports coming. Tight lines fellas/ladies!
