Gave Happy Hollow Park a shot today with some suckers with about 12"-18" of leader off the sinkers. Went from about 5 PM to 8 PM without a bite. The wind was making for some choppy water on the river, might have been a good time to try for walleye.

if your looking for cats try happy hollow park at the mouth of the ditch, they were there last week when I was looking for panfish struck out on crappie
Thanks Acfml357. I didn't even think to check the water specific regulations! I've still got a few suckers so I'll probably keep a line or two in the water for those and then cast for pike. Going to try above the dam tonight, probably Riverside park.
Yeah man game fishing isn't closed on the rock. Never does. Only musky have a specific season. Also it depends on what kinda cats you're trying to catch. Flatheads you'll need some live gills. Channels usually bite on cut bait until summer then stink bait. Walleye and pike are biting great and I've been fishing them for the last 3 weeks.
New to the area, Wisconsin native. Tried casting some suckers south of the dam for cats last night with no luck. Anyone have any wisdom they're willing to share? I fish for all sorts of species but I am looking mostly for cats until the season opens back up on walleye and northern. I was hoping for dinner, but had I caught a big monster I would have caught and released, I'm not that greedy. Any help would be appreciated.
What is the depth and hazard level if any on the Rock River around Jerry's Boat 3100b-3 S Riverside Dr, Beloit, WI 53511
Lunger... troll was illegal on the Rock until a few years ago.
so has everyone been having as tough a time doing well between townline bridge and the dam. a few walleye , accidental cats afew smallmouth. the bluegill and perch bite has been nonexistent. dii much better last year. any input would be appreciated. have learned a few new spots in the process.
Thanks for the info. I probably wont be bringing any minnows with me just my one small box and one pole I take with me when I'm working close to a dam ect this time of year. Probably will be trying some rapala shad raps, husky jerks, and pink jig head white twister are normally my go tos when trying somewhere I'm not fimilar with
The dam is in downtown Beloit off of pleasant st I believe it is. .I havn't been out yet so no idea what's biting but usually jig and minnow or plastics are best where the current break around the rocks. .lots of snags so be prepared for that and the climb down on the rocks can be treacherous so be careful. .good luck
