Thanks for the info. I probably wont be bringing any minnows with me just my one small box and one pole I take with me when I'm working close to a dam ect this time of year. Probably will be trying some rapala shad raps, husky jerks, and pink jig head white twister are normally my go tos when trying somewhere I'm not fimilar with

The dam is in downtown Beloit off of pleasant st I believe it is. .I havn't been out yet so no idea what's biting but usually jig and minnow or plastics are best where the current break around the rocks. .lots of snags so be prepared for that and the climb down on the rocks can be treacherous so be careful. .good luck

Have to do some some work at the powerplant later this week for a couple days. I'm from a ways away and don't know the area and would like to try on my way home.Looking for any recent info/tips on where to try from shore. What road is the dam on for finding that? Read through all the old reports ect just seeing if anyone had anything recent. Thanks for any help

The only advice for this stretch of water(above and below the damn) Is learn it during low water years.  I mean like summer of 2012 low.  Right now the water is about as high as it gets.  Find some flooded timber/ grass along a good current break and they will be in there thick right now.  That is all I am willing to share right now.  A lot of fish get stocked upstream and end up down here.  I love the fact that besides a few lucky anglers, the only people I see catching fish are usually bottom fishing nightcrawlers catching sheepshead.

Took me over a decade to dial in this stretch of river and I catch trophy fish out of it every year.  Gonna shut my mouth now especially since I've had a few.  Good luck out there.

Mybass walleye fishing on the rock above the Beloit dam is difficult only place I've ever had any success is below the town line bridge by the strip joint casting deep diving cracks or dragging minnows. .below the dam is much better imo..above the dam is great for smallies along any shoreline but walleye is tough

Are there contour maps available anywhere for this portion of the river? I'd like to get my father in law out some time this year, but I don't want to go out blind.
