Floated the lake in the kayak the last two days. North end yesterday and the Southeast end today. Used an ice fishing ultra light, slip bobber, and wax/leaf worms. Got a bunch of dinks (perch/bluegill). Both days I got one perch about 10 inches. Released all. They were pretty clean except for the perch near the SE corner. They had a bunch of worms.

I was in the kayak today and checked out the area. There are two solar powered floating platforms belonging to the Army Corp of Engineers. Must be some study going on. Checked the ACE website searching for info with no results.
When I was checked by the warden last night I asked him about it, but as of last night he hadnt been informed. They are solar powered, got close but not too close ,couldnt see any names, have to be monitoring something.
Gave Pike a shot for a few hours this evening. Water temps in the high 60's. Didnt get skunked 'cause the rock bass are biting. First time out this year see they have a Starry Stonewart alert...one more invasive..nuts. Got checked by the warden good thing i had my Go Wild card.
Right off the State Park beach is a good place to start
Anyone heard anything on perch bite. Never fished lake. Where would one start?
BP gas station on Highway 60 just east of town...unless that has changed. I have not been to pike in a few years.
New to the Hartford area. Is there a local bait shop?Minnows, leeches, etc... Thanks
