Sassydog sure sorry I missed your post until now. Been Busy! Anyway Its been good fishing for everything in the river with smallies being caught mostly. Walleye's are still active but you got to work for them a little harder. Panfish I heard from other fisherman as of last week are doing quite well with a mixed bag of gills, crappies and perch. Sassydog and company you have a great wonderful weekend on the water and catch lots of fish! Be Safe! Bobbers Down, Tight lines & Fish On! Nutter Smile Here's some pictures of a friend of mine with a Bluegill that he caught while fishing with me & my dad on a lake in the UP what a slab and caught on bait from The Bait Barn in Pembine. 2 pounds 10 ounces!

Was on The Menominee River this past thursday North of Pembine. Me & The Cuz fished for two hours and caught five keeper fish. Three smallies and two walleyes and numerous smaller ones using a blown up night crawler on a slip sinker rig. Learned this way of fishing from the guy at The Bait Barn In Pembine. Boy he sure has a great deal on the very nice crawlers he has at $2.50 a DZ and a whole lot of fishing information. Bobbers Down, Tight lines and Fish On! Nutter. Smile

TUNA, The river stretches up around Pembine are shallow and rocky. If you want to fish that area, you are restricted to the flowages. The area near Miscauno Island and above the White Rapids Dam would work, other than that, save your lower unit. Also two sets of falls Quiver and Pemene which could quite possibly result in death.

Can anyone answer my questions on fishing the river 2 posts back. I am sure the Bait Barn is a great shop but some background on the launches, fish species, and water depths/rocks would let me bring the right gear, spots to be careful of etc would be a big help so I don't drive 3 hours and not have what I need. Thx

Tunaboy stop in at the Bait Barn in Pembine. The owner there is very knowledgeable about the river and has great prices on bait.

I am interested in fishing the river. Where are the launches? Are there many rocks to worry about? How much of the river is fishable in a 17' , 50 hp tiller fishing boat?
