Pella Pond Jamboree is 1/26/19....any word on the ice conditions and if this years tip up party will happen?  Pray for cold temps as this winter is fading fast.  What happened to the days of 1 to 3 feet of snow....kids sledding.....ice skating....snowball fights....guess we have to turn to Norman Rockwell for that.  Hope to visit my buddy Couttsie for a day on the ice!

Going up this weekend 1/27/18 for the Jamboree on Pella Pond.  My buddy and his son have done the event for the past 12 years.  I caught the only fish the past 2 years.....surprised I get to still go! Love ya buddy!!   It's biggest northern wins.......but looking to pan fish to pass the time.  Any place near the pond that a guy can pick up some gills/crappie?

You won't find any deeeep holes cuz there aren't any. If you find one 8' deep let ms know. I've fished the place for 25 years and didn't find any. No Trout either. Pan fish are in there but try to catch them. You will, however, get a few Smallies and nice Northern. Unless you know the bottom very well you will hit stumps. I hit them all the time You just gotta take it easy and lift the trim. Beautiful area just not the place to fish if you're hungry. Ice

there is no holes over 7 feet unless you go up river to hayman falls theres alot of deeep holes and is very dangerous to the in-experienced fisher.

Dr. J, how deep would you say the deep holes are? I'd like to find them. I'm looking for any hole over 7'. What ever you do don't go on at the boat landing. That's where the current is for the electric power plant. Go on after you cross the small bridge next to the dam and go straight out not to the right or left (again the current). Another place to get on is from Hwy. D near the insurance Co. but the hill/bank is kind steep. Here again the channel is near shore so if you get on say 15' you will have crossed it. Unless there is a run off of some kind there isn't much current here. Good luck, you'll need it, Ice

If you drive through pella you'll see it, theres a park where you can get on. Watch out for the current.
