Finally got out! Daughter and I launched at River Park. Ramp was showing, but mostly submerged. Dock is hard to access as well, path to it is submerged. Unless you bring knee high rubber boots, which I did. They made loading and unloading no problem. Parking lot is soft. Got XL fatheads from Mosinee Bait and Taxidermy, which were excellent. Highly recommended.
Started under the power plant. Got 1 keeper, 1 shortly. Pretty slow.
Went to Domtar. Ended up with 5 keepers. Lots of shorties. Would have stayed longer, but 5 was enough and daughter was getting bored.
XL fatheads on 1/8 ounce jig. Color didn’t seem to matter, but only used bright colors. Water was 42.5 when we left (2 pm). Was 41.9 when we started (10 am).
I‘ll end with this: if it wasn’t for this virus, my daughter wouldn’t have gone fishing with me today. She was so bored, that she resorted to fishing with dad for entertainment. Her whoops and squeals while reeling in Walleyes were the best part of the day. Crazy how this quarantine affects us.
Be safe. Try Your best to avoid others. Take this seriously, but also find the good in it when you can.
Thanks, Scatters. I really appreciate the information.
@WisFish, I would suppose you can launch from there. Water has gone done quite a bit. Many are launching below the dam at chucks and above the dam at river rd.
Can anyone give me another report on launch conditions at River Park? I was going to go Monday, but it was totally flooded out. Got the weekend off and was hoping to get out with my daughter. I know it’s not a far drive, but would prefer not to waste my time hooking up my boat only to go to a flooded ramp. Thank you so much. Sorry this isn’t a report. If I go, I’ll report how I did.
Thank you! Looks difficult. Supposed to get another inch of rain over the weekend, too. Probably not getting better soon.
Stay safe, everyone.
Can anyone provide a report on the boat ramp conditions at River Park in Mosinee? Usable? Flooded? Thanks!
Decided to get back to my roots today and do some good ole' shore fishing (as putting in the boat seemed like more work than i wanted). Found myself at an old favorite that has produced many nice fish years ago. Was shocked to see how disgusting and disrespectfull some people can be. Trash everywhere looked like a landfil around our beautifil Wisconsin Riverl!! I spend more time cleaning up crap than fishing. Next time i do some shore fishing i will be sure to bring a garbage bag to encourage these slobs to clean up after themselves.
As for the fishing- acting is heating up... Good luck to all that have respect of our natural resources!!
