Made it out today. Got there about 6:45 AM. Parked on Brittingham. Had to jump onto the ice from the ramp (big thank you to the guy who showed me the safe spot; didn't get a chance to thank you). Shoreline is melted or skim ice all around.
Ice was super slippery. Fishing was slower than normal until about 9:30, then it picked up for about an hour, and then slow again. Green with wax worm was hottest action, although silver with wax worm also did well. Spikes worked well, too, although wax worms seemed to work better. Left about 11:30.
Caught a ton of bluegill, 3 crappie and a 7.5 inch shiner.
There was some creepy areas of the ice, especially near the ramp. Even a further bit out there was some ice that looked sketchy, although I didn't check. Ice where I was fishing was a solid 10"+, but be careful out there.
The wind was annoying. I was trying to avoid facing the sun to avoid sunburn, but then the wind would blow and make me cold and take my hood down.
