This is why I love Lake Link. Great information. I will still stick to my personal limit on pan fish 25 total all spices. That being said I practice C@R with some exceptions but don’t have a problem with anyone keeping legal limits.

Love the Mississippi and river fishing in general.

Third picture I have no idea where it came from. My

dad always said never take a picture without a person in it.

I always considered a limit on pan fish as all  species together 25 total. Two of us fished and these were the first fish we have kept in many years. About 25 fish were cleaned from our catch. Love the Mississippi.

Fished Lawrence Lake yesterday. Fish were very acomadating. All numbers approximate: 50 Crappies, 15 perch, 15 gills and 8 bass. All in about five hours. Two other boats from our resort in Stoddard had a load of gills and perch also. We gave about a limit of the biggest fish we caught to people in our group.

We were casting and drifting small spinners with 16oz jigs plastic black and gold minnows tipped with gulp maggots.

Fished pool 8 backwaters Wednesday and Friday this past week.  Ultralight rod 1/32 oz jig, Gulp Alive 1 inch minnow.  Any structure had bluegills for the taking, marinas, boat docks, cast and retrieve was best approach.  Perch held in open areas on the edges of any deeper water where available.  Same cast and retrieve caught the perch.  Tried the lock and dam area for a short while, the flow was to much for a decent presentation.
