this report is from 9-1-21, wednesday.   water temp was 72, river level just under 7 ft.  found crappies at every location that had slow flowing water, wood, or man made structures, and 7-12 foot of water.  ultralite 7 foot, 6 lb. mono, 1/16 white lead head jig, crappie minnows.  vertical fishing outdid casting to a location.  fished from 1030 am to 3 pm, wife and i,  40 + fish to the boat, kept 7 for a fry.  it was the 1st day of the bass nation tournament, plenty of other boats to contend with in certain areas. i see that todays water level just went under 5 feet.    wing dams are in the near future this week.

Wednesday, on the water 1030 am, wife wanted to catch some fish, pool 8, wing dam for bluegills.  7 foot ultralight rod, 6 pound test mono., 3/16 oz. white lead head jig, 1/2 piece of night crawler, 2 containers of night crawlers.  Anchored upstream of wing dam, approx. 40 feet from the top of the dam.  Cast to the dam, and slow lift and fall reeling back to the boat.  It was seldom that during the retrieve the bait was not hit.  Fished the last 30 feet of the dam towards the river channel.   Well over 75 fish to the boat, kept 15 for a fry.  The water level and flow is one of the lowest, and slowest,  that I can remember for some time.  The wing dams are really fishable without constant snags.

Howdy all!

We will be staying in Tomah next weekend (shore fishing) and I was thinking of taking a day trip to Lacrosse. Any good spots off of the bank to fish?

Thank you!
