Up for the weekend with my father at my place.  Any lakes have safe ice or open water. Got up here late and hate to spend the day searching tomorrow. Any tips or pointers are appreciated. Pm if prefered. Thanks!

I've open water fished Horseshoe a number of times, but never ice fished it. The crappies run on the small side (seldom over 9 1/2). There are northern in there too. You can gain access to Clarke lake through a channel on the back of the lake. I paddled the canoe there last summer and found the fishing to be a little better in Clarke lake.

Thx Ross. It seems like the bigger waters are hit hard around here and wanted to try some of the smaller ones.

Bluegill and bass seem to be the main species on both North and South Twin. Both lakes are fairly deep. North Twin has dark stained water, South Twin is very clear. The road to South twin is a snowmobile trail in the winter so once trails open, it can be difficult to drive back there.
