Ice conditions are like a 5 layer salad. 5 inches ice 1 inch slush 3 inches ice 2 inch slush snow on top. Fishing today was great. About 100 fish on jig pole with wax worms. Crappie perch bluegill and a bull head. Constant action all day. Few keepers but didn't keep anything. Lots of fun.

Went out early, cold and snowing. We tried fatheads and suckers and caught nothing, we had 2 flags the entire 2 1/2 hours we were out. The ice veried from 5 to 8 inches.

me and a buddy are heading up saturday morning if the snow holds off for the 3.5 hour drive. I haven't fished here for over 5 years, and only in the summer. I remember maple lake being full of northerns. Just wondering if someone could tell me how much ice and snow cover is on maple lake, or the other lakes in the three lakes chain. We are staying at the Oneida Inn in Three Lakes, only a block or two from the lake. any other info would be great, like if its worth fishing for the crappies and gills, or the walleye. i don't think northerns will be a problem Tounge Out thanks for any help, brandon

My parents have a cabin on this lake, so I fish it twice a year for the last ten years. The lake is pretty thick with Pike. Many Pike are under 12". They bite on swimming jigs. I have taken larger Pike using a spinnerbait in the weeds. My brother got a 28" one this summer. Large Mouth Bass are becoming a bigger part of the population. I have caught them on trout colored plugs and draggin jigs over structure. I have also had some luck with top water plugs and spinnerbaits. I have caught a Smallie or two on this lake as well. There are some Walley but I have not been able to catch them consistently. It is a fun little lake with various structure. The Dam offers a nice deep channel that holds Bass. The NNE shore has a great weed bed that holds Pike and Bass. The SE shore has a broad flat that can hold bass, but I have had success just at the drop off of these flats. I enjoy fishing there.

Going to my in-laws in early January. They live next to this lake and I was going to bring my boy here for some ice fishing. Anybody have any suggestions whether to try here or a different lake nearby? Looking for panfish, possibly walleyes.

GS, I looked at my information, and the deepest spot in the lake is 15'. Might suffer freez-out. Information that I have shows muskies, northern, lots of walleye, largemouth, and panfish.

Does anyone know anything about this lake. I was told it would be a good place to take my kids panfishing. I tried it once with my kids, not much luck. If anyone has any info on this lake I sure would appreciate it, or any good panfishing lake in the area that would be fun. Thanks, SHORTHAIR.
