iam going to wait until tuse then i going to go less busy in town in two rivers wouldnt have to battle people or the boats
76oldschool - sounds good. I walked back out onto the pier around 1pm and the handfull of guys out there all said they didn’t have any hits either.
Saw one fresh blood stain on the pier which was exciting for about 30 seconds until someone pointed out the carp scale in the mix.
I might try throwing a Cleo up in the pool by the old Oslo dam on the off chance there are some naturally reproducing skamanias still around from the last time they planted them this weekend...but I think I’m going to give up the ghost on the pier heads till next weekend.
I think it’s just too early yet.
I'm glad you took the time to post, I just was telling my brother we should go slam some salmon this morning, thanks, saved me a long walk of disappointment. Like you said, hope it's just a little early. Might try and crack at some flatheads on the fox instead this weekend. I have been reading about them some and seeing pictures and it looks like a good fight. If I do end up going back out on the piers though I'll keep u posted.
51° - 55° F
I hit the Manty south pier from about 4:30am to about 7:45am. Zilch.
Had to be 20+ guys out, and at least 5 of them overnight and no one had even a hit.
By the time I left there were maybe 20-30 boats out from 100 to 600 yds off the pier heads and I only saw one fish on. Could have been some more that I didn’t see...but they certainly weren’t hammering them.
I’m hoping it’s indicative of it being still just a week or two too early and not a weak run this year.
I’ll probably try in the afternoons again this weekend, and after work all next week, but I’m not seeing the wisdom in setting the alarm for 3:45am again until at least next weekend.
Hit the south pier for an hour or so around two, four people out, not a bite, conditions looked perfect, west wind, then went back for an hour at six for a sundown bite, no luck, seven eight guys out, one king was caught around five, and that was it. Heard they were doing a little better at two rivers though. Boats were tagging them about a hundred yards out though, tomorrow might be the day.
Let me know...I can’t make it out till Saturday at the earliest
Thanks keepermovin, I'm probably going to go throw some chrome at them tomorrow, if I make it out I'll find out if they are in there, I got a feeling they are already.
Saw about 15 guys fishing it this morning on my way to work about 6:30am.
No idea if anybody is catching them yet or just checking to see if the recent cold snap has started bringing them in.
Anything happening on the piers lately?
