FYI - The Village of Palmyra is beginning the drawdown of the lake on September 9. The lake will be brought down about 4 feet and left that way overwinter. The DNR has placed an emergency closure of all fishing on the lake effective September 9.

Drove past lake yesterday. Ice looked like it was in good shape. Saw two groups of guys down by the beach 1 atv out parked next to a shack. Did see a small section marked off with cones and tape, try to avoid that area I would assume. Ice by launch can be so so, fine to walk on but never sure about ATVs, or driving on, based on this years sketchy ice. Pics from last Saturday.
Hows the ice looking now? from boat launch to the beach
Out on lower with a group of 5, only people on the lake it seems. Nothing yet, ice is a solid 8-10” everywhere we have been. Nothing popin yet....
The ice around the boat launch is not good in some areas where the weeds came all the way to the surface, I heard an ATV went in over there, around the beach had 10-12 before the cold snap
Any ice reports? I plan on going out Saturday, will post what I catch and how the ice is. Anyone go to the jambo, didn’t hear anything about the fish board.....
How’s the turnout for the jambo? A lot of guys braving the cold? Anything on the board yet? Tough not being there, super cold weather and a 1 year old make it hard to fish lol
Below 40° F
6° - 10° F
Palmyra Lions Club Fisheree is still on for Jan 26th. Ice depth for most of the lake is 7 inches. Alot of slush on the lake where holes have been drilled.
We may not be able to go around the lake selling raffles because of the slush. But they will be sold and drawn in the beach shelter
