A friend of mine lost an ice fishing bag with a lot of gear in it. Not sure of exact date but within the past couple days. If anyone has found it please reach out to him or my self please.
Fished a different spot Friday afternoon and Saturday than long lake. Was too busy to fish yesterday but drove down to check it out on my way back from baraboo. Anyways I hope everyone has permission from landowners because based on where I saw people walking in and off they were trespassing. Again I just don’t understand people’s entitlement. Please contact Columbia county or buy a plot map. The apps are always up to date. There is a piece off of west lake road that shows up a county owned but it is now private. Tight lines but show some respect people
Busy working. Would have commented sooner. Old video post was just to show the area and what happens. The pic below it was current. Was going to make a video of the road, but it was so rough the camera did not stay up and I barely made it out. I also was going to post that it was an old video, but thought that obvious. I only posted so an out of towner would not drive down there with a car and rip off a quarter panel. I also posted because I would not want my property to be getting trespassed on. Do I think the original poster was foolish for posting a report like that on such a small lake that can be fished out... yes, but it is his right to do it (maybe he was lonely fishing). I don't post names of small lakes where I make a video, too much pressure... but since I won't be back......
My fishing report was honest... but I know what is in here.
I have live in the area my whole life. I am in my 40’s now. There is land owned by the county in various spots throughout the lake. That said other than the landing there is almost no Access points that at least there is a little bit of trespassing happening. Now contrary to what onyx hunt or various apps say they are updated frequently. I suggest contacting Columbia county due to land be auctioned and sold often out here. There is a couple spots going to the landing but one place you have to cross a private drive. Passed the landing there is a Couple places but good luck getting there now, with ice and road wash out. All the haters can say I am pushing people away, but is a few fish worth not respecting people’s property or a tresspass ticket. The sense of entitlement people have is just amazing. Good luck to all but be respect and legal
Drove by there around noon today. ER is correct...there were 6 trucks parked there and were obviously cutting across private property. The road down to the launch is rough and could likely start washing with the rain/warm temps.
I assure you ER is not trying to "scare" anyone away... Simply showing an example of what the road can look like as I have seen it that way just about every winter.
I don't think he was trying to hide anything. I think he is just showing you what can happen when it's that close to the river. In the spring it's high water from the river and in the winter it can be ice jams on the river. I would not want a house back there.
Yeah, hmmmm, conditions weren't that bad but I realize that video is old, seems to be a local guy trying to scare others away. I agree, don't trespass! Couple friends reported that they had their share of 9 inch bluegill and some crappie up to 12 1/2 inches. Maybe Early was fishing in the wrong spot but maybe not and not telling us what he really caught. We should stay honest to each other and the world would be better! I only shared how I did in case someone wanted to take a kid out for a great trip! Most guys like to keep secrets but the reality is you will never be able to catch the fish that end up in someone else's pail! Get at er!! Good luck! I'll be at it this weekend again!
Early- Why post an old video???
Thanks flatlander! Didn't catch that! Then I don't understand the video post??? WTF?
