Does anyone know the ice status. We will be staying in South Bay over New year's. I've read reports that the lakes in the St. Germain area are all over the place due to the snow. Im hoping that this one will be safe sooner than some of the others because of all the bays. My experience has been that west Bay frezes last, but I haven't heard anything yet. In the past we would always talk to Mark Hillier, but that's unfortunately not an option this year. He was a great resource.
now if people would realize that you can only keep 10 crappies and not 25 out there.....
Renting a cabin on the lake this weekend. Only can fish for a day. Any tips or locations to find bluegills and crappies. Thank you
Headed up this coming weekend. Looking for a ice report. Thanks
Coming up to Little Saint next week for some fall fishing. How has the crappie & walleye fishing been this month?
66° - 70° F
66° - 70° F
Fished the last 2 weeks targeting bass for the most part. Wacky worms with VMC weedless jigs Green pumpkin tight or in the weeds. Also Texas rigged 4" black power worms 10 to 15 feet at dark
Mid July. Great bass lake. Young men had a blast!
Folks, keep an eye on my posts on the vilas thread. Tonights will help all summer.
Mepps #5 black spinner is a good easy to use lure. Look for cabbage weed beds and cast to the beds. You will have a shot at bass and northern. Use a steel leader. Good luck.
Hello all I'm going to be on little St Germain lake 1st week of August. I want to show my kids a good time. I'm a novice angler but my heart is a pro. I strictly catch photo and release if I'm lucky enough to catch anything. Please give me some helpful pointers on what to use and where time of day etc and for what species. Everything except musky info is greatly appreciated. Again if we caught 1000 fish 1000 would go right back into the water we just love to catch them not keep them and I wish I was a better angler but kids love it too so any information is very much appreciated. Thank you
