i believe the largest legal hole is 10" unless you are native american, then they can be as large as you wish. he might have been making the holes and then allowing the ice to firm up around them for fishing at a later date.
Saw a guy out on Little Spider this past weekend punching larger holes 12-15 inches in. He was moving around the lake. He would mark the holes he made with branches when he left. Anyone know what he was looking for or doing? He was in a shack so I could not see anything.
Anything happening out on Little Spider? Wondering on ice depth/quality?

Thinking of spending time on the lake and wondering if anyone has has any input, thoughts or insight.
fish bays with suckers on tip ups above the weeeds. Use to do well after dark, had acottage on lake. Chanel for crappies.
Does anyone have any tips on ice fishing on the lake? I am going to be fishing it in a couple weeks and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to start fishing. I will be fishing with a couple of other guys that are new to fishing so I am hoping we can at least catch a couple of fish.

Water clarity is very good. There has been some activity using large shiners on this lake. Nice size walleyes and northern's in the weeds late in the day.
Jigging for perch and crappie has been very good- even in the cold weather.
I am coming up to this lake the 1st week of June (2-6) how is the bite ? Are there any size to the pan fish (gills, perch, crappie) seen alot of posts but they were years old. Any feed back much appreciated.
