Been fishing Lime lake for several weeks now and always catching a few fish. Nice little lake. Today when I arrived at the landing there were 4 other vehicles. Everyone had walked out, as did I. Around midday I saw a truck come down the hill and head straight out. Didn’t go far and kerplunk! Front end right down to the bottom. Go figure. About a half hour later a backhoe showed up and was able to jerk the guy back out. Still about a foot of ice but the top is getting awfully soft. Finished with 10 in the bucket and tossed about twice that many back. Think I’m done for the year. Oh, got checked by a warden walking off. Nice guy.
found a rod laying on the ice a week or so ago. identify it for return

Unusual day for the uncle and I on Lime yesterday We're old school, no flasher; just contour map and knowledge of the lake. Drilled six holes to start, second hole I fished was at the 20 foot contour and instead of being loaded with the normal 5-6 inch gills with the occasional 7-8 inch, immediately began to catch 8- 8 1/2 gills. About 50/50 keepers to not, so more quality than quantity. Multiple jig colors caught fish, though pink produced the best (unfortunately lost mine to a sizable fish early in the day). Green and orange/yellow also worked. Between 7:00 and 11:00 am we ended up with 15 nice gills with my uncle ending the day with a 9 3/4 inch slab. Says it was the largest bluegill he has caught in the lake in over 30 years he has ice fished on Lime. A fun day to be sure ahead of the arctic blast that is coming our way.

Was out on ice on Saturday (December 14th) from about 10:30-3:30 p.m. and ice was right around 4-5 inches.
Parking was tight as there were about 8-10 other cars there when we arrived. Found a spot and trekked along the right side of the shore line from the boat landing. Never had fished the lake before and didn't have any recon info so we went off chance. Tip ups set in 12-19' of water but never had a bite all day. Started in shallow for jigging in about 7' but was way too shallow. Moved in to about 15' of water for the last 3 hours and did ok on gills. Had pretty constant action and some nice gills. A bunch of smaller ones but had about 3-4 that were pushing 8-9'' overall a fun day. Easy lake to access and doable considering we hand hauled everything.

Fished July 4th from 6:30 till 10:30. Probaly caught 25 bluegills between us. Most were caught on a small jig and tail with a few on waxies or small beetle spin. No real size to them though kept 3 for lunch. Used my buddys Bass Tracker and had to wade out to our knees to launch and land. Had a big snapping turtle swim around the boat for over an hour.

Fished today from 1:00 till 5:15. Couldn't buy a bite jigging but got 5 flags with 1 15" Largemouth Bass, 1 22" Northern Pike and 1 24" Northern Pike. Odd that I got 3 of the flags while 2 snowmobiles were racing back and forth across the lake. 3 trucks on the lake when I got there but all gone by 1:30. Landing starting to break up so truck traffic iffy after today. Medium goldens under tip-ups did the trick. Nice healthy, chunky fish that were all released.
Lime Lake panfish limits only ten bluegill per day THIS MEANS U [no culling] Can U do it?
This little lake is getting absolutely hammered the past couple winters, 20+ people a day on weekends fish this lake.. I know this lake well and the last couple times ive gone out i only catch a few little ones, all the decent gills have been fished out. Last Friday there was 40 people on this little lake throughout the day and i watched people pulling out 5" gills and keeping their limit.. Saw one guy catch a small Pike and he kept it.. there's not many pike that size in this lake. Sad to see a small lake get hammered like this, it could be a good lake in a few years if it didnt get hammered so hard.
In a couple weeks there will be maybe 2-3 people on the weekend fishing it because it gets hit so hard early for its size its fished out within a couple good weekends... that's what happened last year. Fishing isn't good enough to begin with for that many people to hit it that hard I dont get it.
Saw a big group come out and just swiss cheese about a 40 square yard area with tip downs and they were hardly getting anything..
