Fished the last week 20+ hours and the last three years on vacation with every little to show for it. Once ice fishing. I would feel guilty for keeping any fish and never have. There is not a harvestable population of fish. Very poor fishing lake.
Thinking about heading up here with the kids on their day off on Friday, wondering what truck travel is like and any general area to start to get em on some panfish and maybe chase a few flags!! Thanks!!
I have enjoyed the 3 times I was on this lake. I caught plenty of fish each time. They are all still swimming. It is just good to get out and catch fish!! I went out on Duck Creek today and got a meal of perch! To me getting keepers is just a bonus. Being out on the water and catching fish is good for me. It sure beats sitting in the house or at work. To those that that think posting on Lake Link is a bad thing well....I will tell you that there are many other resources out there that bring people to the lakes. I don't only use this site to determine where I will fish. I also look at DNR fish survey reports etc. People will fish where they want to. Someone posting a good day of fishing on Lake Link does not make people swarm to a particular lake. I will be back to Leigh Lake soon enough as I have had good times fishing this lake.
Redneck, it’s pretty said that on a fishing forum that telling guys what work and where to fish. Is something that’s going to piss people off. I firmly believe that the negative talk about the lake on here. Is just an attempt to steer people away from the lake. In reality, most people would have no clue where this lake is, or want to drive that far to get there. In my mind, this chat is for people who fish this lake. So, telling them what is working and where to go. Is just being helpful to local guys.
Ok I know I'm going to piss some people off by doing what I'm going to do but here it goes.I fish this lake a lot summer and winter. I use peacher color Hali jigs and they never let me down. And in the summer I use a sliver stingnose jig. If you want to know my spot from the landing look at it as a clock and head for 2 o'clock fish about 100 yards from shore. The lake is just about gin clear out from the landing you can see the bottom with lots of stumps. Fish the shore in the summer all around the lake and you will have a fun time. Good luck and tight lines

Well, Badger, it’s your choice not to post. As for me, I like to post and talk fishing with other people. If I go out and fish and catch nice fish. I enjoy the fact that I can share that with other anglers. Lee is a good bit away from most stuff. So, having it get fished to much seems like non sense. For most people it’s a solid drive of 45 minutes. If they are willing to do that. I’ll tell them where I was fishing, what bait I was using. In the hopes someone will enjoy it as much as I do. Hopefully, they will respect the lake and fish quality as much as I do. I fish Lee quite often. 90% of the time. I’m the only person out there. If anyone reads this, hope they reach out to me. I’ll send them to the same holes I drilled. At the end of the day. There are more than enough fish to go around.
I fish this lake alot and a good day of fishing is just being on the water. If I catch enough for a meal great if not oh well, For me it's just getting out and relaxing. Stop stressing about other people and just fish.
I agree 100% with you!!
I know the area. It seems to me if people would stay off posting. It’s a great way to kill a lake and now have it overfished. Fish and go home. I read, don’t post and am just fine. I could start a post, jump up and down, get people to believe it an drive past a dead, winter kill lake a see a steady stream of traffic. Modern electronics and LL are lake destroyers.
