Can anyone verify for me that the ice is all off of Middle and Green Lakes? I am fishing tomorrow afternoon and will give a report. Thanks.
76° - 80° F
Packing the truck for the short ride from Indianapolis to Lauderdale Lakes tomorrow morning.
NOTICE TO ALL NORTHERN PIKE IN MIDDLE AND GREEN LAKES:
You are hereby warned that Mr. Sucker, Pike Knight, and myself are actively preparing to rip you from your homes and families on Saturday morning at sunrise. This is not a warning. This... is a THREAT!
Jiggin' Ain't EZ
Thanks Gimmesomeice. Went out on mill lake in afternoon and no luck with tip ups. Maybe try again today
Coop66 there is a solid slippery 8" of ice around the lakes. Jigging during the day has been terrible, tip ups work earlier in the day.
Any updates on ice conditions?
Below 40° F
31° - 35° F
yesterday drilled the basin on mill lake using panoptix live scope searching for crappie. marked stragglers with one caught. seen people catching decent pike in a few spots. drove the wheeler throughout mill lake and ventured over to middle lake in the evening.
I'm going to drill the basin on middle lake around around noon today. if anyone feels ambitious you're more than welcome to join. just send me a message.
I'm currently out targeting walleye. couple flags.
I appreciate the ice reports! New to the area and looking to try the Lauderdale Lakes for the first time this weekend. Any other tips or tricks would be wonderful, messenger is open. Bringing the underwater camera to help explore.
pounder 21 maybe you should go out and check like I did yesterday before you make comments. no ice is ever safe! traversing ice always carries risks and shouldn't be taken lightly. with that said I post on here to give people an idea of conditions and where not to go. its still up to the individual to make his own decision on what he/she decides is best for them.
I did drive a wheeler around mill lake, the bay, middle lake and the channel going into green lake.
Drilled a ton of holes from the sterlingworth launch through the channel today. Found a consistent 7" except for one slushy spot it the channel with 4-5" under it.
White bass, was not trying to be rude, but Friday there was open spots on Green near the 55' hole past the girl scout camp towards pebble beach. Plus several other places on these lakes. With the snow on Saturday I cant imagine they have enough ice to be safe for a wheeler. Just want people to be safe.
