I'm fishing out of Sturgeon Bay this week. Going to fish morning or evening depending on weather Mon- Thursday. Anyone been out? I'll be happy to share info if anyone willing.
9/1/20 Quick evening run 530 to 8pm. Slow, 1 for 3, 1 king on flasher fly. other bites on spoons. Setup out in 275 and tried between there 150 for a while. fished into 90-100 FOW at sunset. all bites earlier in the trip, nothing at sunset. Fish bites were scattered. Water temps at surface in upper 60's, was 50 degrees about 65 to 75 down. Bites all came about 70 to 80 down on riggers. Been really slow out of sturgeon bay last few weeks. Nothing but small fish for the most part, few steelhead mixed in there. Been hearing reports of guys running out to 500+fow after steelhead but nothing decent has been around for a few weeks. Fishing was fantastic in July! FYI, fleas were still out thick.. Anyone else have a report for DC waters?
We have been getting kings anywhere from 90 - 180 fow recently. I believe the leader of the KD is 32.78 lbs out of kewaunee.
Anybody know how big the leading fish in the KD Salmon Tourney
Is as of 7/23 ? Heard on Door Co. fishing report that top 100 are over 22 lbs !
Does anyone know about what depth and FOW the kings have been running in?
JHarris, Bank Reef is directly East out of the Sturgeon Bay Shipping canal. It's not a large area, and the charters tend to fish it heavily- and it'll be nuts during the KD Derby. I'd suggest sticking further north for sanity's sake. :)
Coming up to Door this weekend for some salmon. It’s my first time in the area, probably launching out of Baileys harbor. Looking for some advice on depths. Also where is the Bank reef exactly? Any info greatly appreciated!!
7/17 evening. A bit rough out there but still managed 6 for 12 (3 kings nothing big) Fished 130-200 fow. 3 kings on green ff downrigger 80-100' Saturday looks a little too sporty for me. Sunday looks good. Good luck!
Good luck to everyone in the K-D tournament! I'll be posting our turnouts and checking daily.
