I have talked to DNR and fish biologist for Columbia county, sounds like the hybrid striper cant be stocked legally.  The cost isnt actually too bad and several guys have mentioned pitching in, it has something to do with the VHS rules in place. I sure miss the Wipers, but they are still in the general area of Wisconsin if one does some searching.

You guys catch those using a Hula-popper?  I had one follow up last time I was there, but she turned away when she saw the lure was a Cordell  g@y blade...

Stocking strippers would be kind of awkward I think....STRIPERS on the other hand would be fantastic!

Any exotics caught lately? Last one i ever saw caught there was that huge red tail catfish. Tried explaining to a friend how the lake stays so warm durring the winter n how exotics have been caught here couldnt find one pic to show. Any talk still of stocking strippers here?

Any suggestions on a good spot to set up here for flatheads? Don't need to give away a honey hole but generally for cats. East side west side of the lake? I'e never had any luck here with catfish. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks

Born and raised in portage area. This used to be a fun lake. But for what ever reason it has gone down hill. I can say from talking to some guys who were doing water testing about 15 yrs ago I would NEVER EVER EVER eat a fish from this lake! Also the whipers are all but gone they haven't been planted in a long time. Use to catch them by the dozens 15 yrs ago but haven't caught one in last 5 to 7 so any that are left are from the last stocking.

If you just type in " columbia " in the search box, you will find this.
