Lake ice is getting better.  Still a lot of 8 in places that I have seen. Not much snow yet. Trails are not open yet, and probably won't be either for a while yet. Need  a good 6 in heavy snowfall.

Coming up the 29-31st to a friends cabin,  just wondering  what the current ice conditions were?  I heard of an atv going in on Lake Arrowhead a while ago. Wondering if it's worth bringing my snowmobile up or not?

Cambridge - Don't know what you're trying to say, but I'm local and don't trespass; also it's 9th Ave that has access to the water. I know where I can and cannot go. No worries though, I probably should charge the home owner's association next time for my services of picking up after FIBs (sarcasm). XD

Same place I drop my kayak in the summer...

As for access we have local friends who live on Camelot ; )

Cambridge,  they cant own the road right of way, or the water as its navigable. If you can walk it on the water, its legal to be there.

Northern Lightz, Not sure how you accessed that end of Camelot. But the only public access is off the 9th street east end.  The boat landing and all paths that lead under that tunnel are private. I was back there and confronted by a landowner who had call the rome police who confirmed that it was trespassing. If your unsure I'd call the pd and confirm your location. Hate to see anyone caught

So went to see how busy the ice was where I was going to fish Saturday, way too busy for my likes. Waited until Sunday for the weekend warriors to leave. Only person on the ice with my nephew and youngest daughter (both first time ice fishing). Fished in a "secret" spot on the north side of the lake, called Walden Pond. Marked fish throughout the day. Found them roaming in the deeps (9'ish and up in the weeds (5-7'). Caught a number of crappie, but again there were definitely of lookers and no takers and even tried to pin down what they wanted... Most action was on a jig tipped with a minnow head. Only thing eating the whole minnow were little snot rockets.

Good luck! Oh and... MOST IMPORTANTLY:

...something literally pissed me off. The amount of garbage all the turds left on the ice on Saturday. Stay home if you're going to treat the lake like your personal trash can FFS. Worthless "fisherman" left things on the ice ranging from heating pouches, to Wicked Ice Tea cans (what a manly drink you have there turds), and spent bait containers. Crap like that pisses me off as it should any other sportsman and conservationist. Stay home if you don't respect the waters you're fishing. I urge people like that to find a new hobby. You give the real fishermen a bad name.

To those turds, you're welcome for picking up after you.
