I put out two tip-ups with no flags all day. I moved the tip-ups around every two hours, but did not have any takers on medium shiners.
I had some pretty good success jigging with wax worms on both a Rapala jigging rap and a 1/32 oz jighead. I probably caught a limit of bluegill--most in the 7-9 inch range--which made for an exciting day on the ice. In addition, I caught a non-keeper walleye jigging a small Northland spoon tipped with a wax worm. All fish were caught in 6-8 FOW, just above the weedy bottom.
The lake was mostly quiet and empty. It was a slow but steady bite of quality fish. This will probably be my last time on the ice at Kangaroo. I look forward to Spring.

I am going to give an ice conditions report as of this morning. I have been on the lake for the last couple of weeks checking ice conditions and with the lack of cold weather there is not as much ice as we would like. However in some areas there is 4 inches of good hard ice and in other areas there is still open water and in other areas there is very thin ice. At this point I would not reccomend venturing around with out using extreme caution. As of this morning the area south and east of the island has open water and very thin ice. The north end of the lake north of the causeway is solid with about 4 inches of ice. I will be out in the morning with a couple guys and will give a report as to how things go. Please feel free to contact me for recent weather and ice conditions in Door County.
