My father and I have a cabin up there, I have been coming up ever since I was a little kid and we have gotten very good at open water fishing, but can’t seem to get the hang of ice fishing. Anyone know of a guide in the area that can take us out and help us get the hang of it?

Thanks all. Was out Thursday and the ice on the couple lakes we made it to measured 6-8” everywhere, but that was before the warm weather hit.

@mattdougherty231- Did you end up getting out and exploring ice conditions yet? If not I am heading out on Thursday to see what the lakes around me look like and will report my findings. Tight lines.

Are there any panfish opportunities around this time? I have never fished this early in spring, but am really itching to take the boat out for a few hours. I was thinking twin falls cos I have a house on the water? Is it worth a try?

Any thoughts out there on what the conditions might be like this weekend? Planning to come up and do some cleanup work and would like to hit Keyes or maybe the chain.  Thanks

Got some nice bluegill on sea lion lake. Then got some nice crappies on spread eagle chain. I have only been able to catch the crappies at sundown. I moved around a lot at both lakes. I then went to the Michigan side and tried lake Antoine and got some big bluegills and dinky perch. I have been trying so hard to target perch around Florence or iron mountain and can't seem to find them. If anyone has any tips on perch I would be very grateful. Pm or respond here. I can catch all the bluegill and crappie I want but can't seem to locate any decent perch. I used to be able to catch great perch across the the boat launch at spread eagle and anywhere on Antoine, but it seems I have lost my touch or they aren't in their usual spots. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
