Florence County fishing

Bite was back on between 3:30-5:00 tonight. Ice is thinning up for sure in some parts, even after light rain. Met closer to 4” in the some northern parts of the county this evening.

Stay safe this weekend; saw a ute out with a heavily loaded trailer on the thicker lakes. A few spots may appear safe when not, others look unsafe and are thick as 9”. Definitely a tough season. 

Ice this morning has melted a bit since last week. The light rain from yesterday didn’t seem to weaken the ice terribly. Saw between 6 and 9” this morning. Fish were not biting. 

Was up last Saturday thru Monday. Ice depth averaged 81/2" to 11". The ice should hold up for this weekend. Cool nights this week firmed things up. As long as there isn't much sun, we'll lose less than you think.

Anyone have thoughts on fishing tomorrow? Light rain tonight and expected in the PM tomorrow. Definitely warming up; hoping to have a report out by tomorrow night.

I was fishing sea lion lake this past weekend.The ice was 10 to 13 inches 

Really looking for an ice report in the area. I know it’s probably messy/wet, but looking for details. Have a cabin in Florence and my friends and I take a trip every year (they fly in from other states). Looks like this was an unlucky week to pick this year. Hopefully the ice will still be safe next week.

I was up last weekend and didn't see any hard water. Fischer Lake and other small lakes were ice free. You'll be able to find somewhere to launch a boat.

Making a last minute plan to head up that way for opener but realized I’m not sure if the ice is out yet. Can anyone confirm if the lakes in the area are open?
