I was thinking of renting a cabin on the lake this summer.  Has anybody had any luck fishing for pike/smallies/largies?  Also, are there decent populations of nice sized panfish?

Lots of boat motor parts on a few rock bars there.  I saw a guy run a brand new Ranger over it with a 250 hp on it.

I have seen at least 40 boats hit that rock bar.

Hey, I'm new to fishing this lake and was looking for tips on where to target the largemouth/pike population during the may opener. If anyone was willing to share some info that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I caught some nice perch and a few good bluegills a couple of weeks ago off a point on the north section of the lake. there is a bouy off the point and I fished in 8/9' of water. The bigger fish came on Gulp crickets; you do have to sort.

Heading out to this lake this weekend for a fishing trip with my niece, was wondering if anyone had any hints or had fished it so far this summer. Thanks!

Fished lake for first time on Saturday morning. No bites in 4 hours so moved to another lake in Vilas County.... be careful of rock bar on the southside off point, my prop didn't appreciate it! Crying

Marked alot of fish on North end in about 14" of water, assuming they were crappies but couldn't get any to bite. Appeared to me that is what everyone out on lake (all 4 boats) were fishing for.

Fished Horsehead lake yesterday. Beautiful day. Probably ten inches of light snow on the lake. We pulled our sled from the launch over to the far west side of the bullrushes (on the north shore). Drilled holes from the edge of the rushes (12 ft) out to 20 feet depth. Caught only a few perch. Saw more activity on the Vexilar, but few bites. Had to leave at 4PM, suspect the bite would pick up later in the day. Fished with small jigging raps tipped with Gulp alive minnow heads plus small jigs/waxies. Was thinking of trying the rock bars on the south side near inlet going to Armour lake next time. Anyone have luck there?

try the bull rushes to the west of the boat launch. the water drops off fast all the way around the rushes fish just off the rushes in deeper water. the lake is not real deep and relatively small. the bays have some walleye too. i think minnows would be best at this time. go to the bait shop in presque isle and talk to him. this is the best bait shop in wisconsin. see ya
