Went out today. Hemlock was about 7-8 feet below normal. Over half is completely dry. I found out it was drawn down due to erosion at the dam. Won't be fishing there for a while.

These are two different pike videos I made on Hemlock this winter. Enjoy!
Hemlock is not listed in the Special Regulations Section under Sauk County in the 05-06 Fishing Regs, therefore i am under the assumption that i can go by the "General Inland Waters" regulations for Pike south of Hwy. 10...which reads "May 7-March 5, 2 fish over 26" may be kept" (page 48)...according to this general regulation, we dont have any problem with the fish we kept, and to be honest, they should make life easier and just post the length limits down there!!! so, dont say i didnt know what i was doing, because it sounds like someone else should brush up on the regs before pointing fingers at others...and seriously try the bigger shiners...we got ours at hartjes in lavalle...they call 'em "Slab Shiners" or something of the sort...also, try fishing shallow...in 2-3 feet of water and put your shiners 6" under the ice and dont use a leader!! bigger fish are more spooky and they notice the big shiny leader!!!
How did you take some home for pickling. None of the northerns are even keepers, try measuring them next time
