Went out fourwheeling and forgot to bring a pole. Didn't realize how many lakes were in the hills. Anybody still fish these? I have a few questions.

Iced up, I've been ice fishing them the past couple years. Always run into a consistent bite but most of the panfish seem stunted to me

I fished a small lake in the hills area on Saturday. Caught quite a few gills. Some smaller ones but mostly around 8 inches. I like fishing these small lakes. The weather doesn't seem to affect them too much. The bigger ones were suspended from about 3 feet down to about 10 feet down in 15 feet of water. Smaller ones were on the bottom. Also got one small crappie. Here's a couple photos of the 8 inchers. There are a lot of small lakes to try in this area. I'll try a few more next weekend.
