Trout are no longer planted in this lake.  Don't think there are any left either. The northern are smaller with fewer large ones left since stocking stopped.

Last year I watched a PBS show about Wisconsin waterways and how the ecosystems are evolving.  They used Lake Hallie as an example of a lake that used to have cool enough water to support trout.  But as more of the area was developed there was increased runoff of warm surface water that raised the water temp to a level where it will no longer support trout.

They also talked about development on Long Lake (chippewa county) and are monitoring what effect that will have in the next few years.  Very interesting show.

Really small bluegill that were very picky for me.. the I got a nice Northern on a tip up. 30". My personal best! Thanks to the other guys out there for snapping a pic!

Oh yeah and there were full size and mid size trucks out there which I thought was pushing it so I just stayed away.

Okay, I just know this was maybe 30 years ago when sometime's you'd catch them.

As far as I am aware of, there hasn't been trout stocked here for quite a few years.  I can't imagine there are many, if any, trout left but I could be wrong.
