Been here twice in the last three weeks and have been disappointed by results. Upper marsh is unfishable due to low water levels and the bottom is over-run by small pike. I caught one decent sized catfish on a daredevil but haven't been able to pull out any bass or decent sized pike. Really discouraging considering this was a sure spot for 5lbers the past few years.

Tuffy, There is a refuge just below the dam that is closed year round. No legal fishing from the dam down river about 30 feet or so.
Fishing below close to the dam is a closed area untill opening weekend in may, it has been that way forever signs have always been posted for years
Pike, With all that bog in front of the dam is it blocking much of the flow into the Grand River or is it still flowing normal? Looking at the opposite shore it looks like the water level isn't down too bad. ?? Thanks.

Checked out the dam today. Bogs are up in the gate. (See pic) water level is low on top, high on the Puck side. The way I interpret the new DNR signs, I'd say you can't fish below the dam unless you walk west into the channel. No bites or even hits today. Flow is fast. Guess I'll wait until opening day b4 I try that again.
Just fyi. I talked to dnr just after Christmas. They said they opened one of the gates on the dam before winter to bring water level down some and a bog flowed into the gate on the dam and messed it up leaving it open. So the water level is likely pretty low and possibly a lot of fish could have flowed out of the marsh if were in there. DNR said they had money in the budget but likely wouldn't be able to fix and close gate until May. I didn't bother fishing saw a fair amount of mud.
There are pike in there, i don't go bye there much but have seen guys out there. the dnr has stocked it with pike.
Same as the last question, does anyone fish here at all? Are there any pike or panfish to be caught? TIA!
