A buddy and I hit the Fox by the sliver lake launch and went upstream and hit the bends (with our kayaks) and deeper holes.
All we managed was a single white bass.

Water was up about a foot from the rain and current was pretty fast around 870 CFS

water temp was 53 degrees.

pretty slow day.

Took a ride to the Fox this morning. Water lever was down about 2' from my last trip out there. Tried several spots with only one fish on. I believe it may have been a Carp or Buffalo, not sure as I never saw it. Definitly need rain! It was nice to get out!

Late Report on the Fox. Was fishing near the fairgrounds last week and did ok. Managed 4 walleyes from 17-19.5. Kept two for the pan, clean fish indeed, most likely ran up from the Chain. Haven't fished that stretch in a while, need to make another trip if the water comes up a bit. Green twister tail on 3/8 ounce jig head. No meat, just some Mr Walleye Scent!

Tite lines to all!

If time allows tomorrow, I'm going to scout around and check the river and launches to see what things look like. Might consider trying for cold water cats this weekend if it looks doable. If I get out, I'll post what I see.

Fishermen are optimist. Started Thursday morning @ Fox River Park in Salem. A Chilly, Overcast morning, seemed promising.  Just the way I like it! Threw swimbaits and Mepp Lures with nothing to show. Fished several spots from the far right end of the Park back towards the Bridge. Lost fewer lures here, but my chances of catching fish also may have went down. Beautiful Place. No one seemed to be getting anything as well. Shifted Location mid morning to the Wilmot Rd. Fox River Water Trail location. Same presentation, swim baits and Mepps Lures, all the colors Walleye can see in low light conditions. Nothing biting,  but this part of Wisconsin is good for ones soul . The People and the Natural beauty of the Fox.  No place like it. Wisconsin is as about as close to home as home gets. Tight lines.

Is there decent catfishing in wilmot? I’ve tried for 3 days by the silver lake launch with nothing. I’ve been using chicken livers. Any information would be appreciated should I use cut bait or stink baits instead? thanks

Beautiful early morning in Wisconsin! Shore Fishing the Fox River North of Wisconsin Hwy 50 for the 1st time. Water appeared  stained & approximately 2 ft. below normal based on the high water marks on nearby rocks. No boats or other fishermen out. Just me and a fat little chip monk determined to steal my live bait.

Caught my 1st Wisconsin fish ever; a White Bass on a Night Crawler. Lots of dead wood just below the surface, & that's at a Water Trail head. Lures, Night Crawlers, and shrimp. Cut bait may have been what was needed since I only landed 1 all morning.

We are blessed to have all this Natural treasure.  Not many places Id rather be than right here!
