The fishing in the river has been pretty bad recently but this year has been good there has been lots of smallmouth in the area the pike fishing was good in May but haven’t had and much action in the past few weeks there are plenty of carp, rock bass and dog fish as usual the cat fishing hasn’t picked up yet but that usually happens later in the summer had some success in the early spring months with Channels on worms but not much size to them the bass fishing has been solid, there is hand full of Muskie in there area but same as pike there is not much currently. This year I have caught one walleye that was 19” and last fall I was able to catch quite a few in the 15 - 20” range on worms and minnows caught a few on artificials. In may I caught one nice northern that was 36” and two Muskie that were 35” and 32”. But on a side note the water has been nice to swim in on the hot fish less days.

Tried a new spot yesterday. Fished the bridge by frame park. Extremely windy. Fished a spinnerbait with an Excite Shadnasty trailer. Managed to get one 26" Northern.

Tight lines!

Seeing that the dam was almost completely frozen solid, I thought I'd try for the first time to fish the river even though it would be risky. The river above the dam is almost frozen solid. I drilled one hole about twenty feet from shore. There was approximately 14" of ice and less than 4" of water. This will probably mean a winter kill above the damn in the river. I wanted to try and fish but it just wouldn't have made any sense.

Took my 4 year old daughter out and the water was very high. after 2 hours of fishing we pulled out 2 14'' walleyes and 1 8'' crapie. but we did see the muskies moving in. saw 2 about 40+ inches and one pushing 50 inches.
