There is a low head dam on the Fox before you get to Princeton. Montello also has a low head dam.
I am getting a seasonal campsite on Lake Puckaway. Does anyone know how far north I can boat on the Fox River? Does it connect to the Winnebago system? Thanks
How is the walleye fishing this year? Am I early? ??????
Still some walleyes below montello lake dam, it is a closed fishing area.
I believe they are referring to the water flowage from lake montello by the courthouse.Walleyes start to stack up there, but you can’t fish it.
What and where is the flume
Walleyes were spawning in the flume Monday night. Had one legal and some shorts.
46° - 50° F
41° - 45° F
Got out today from 11am-2pm today had no luck with the eyes but did manage to catch one heck of a white bass and also had something pretty big on but bit the line. Water temp was 48.8 . Gonna give it a try again tomorrow. Keep those lines tight.
So the walleyes swim upstream to spawn right? And so if the river runs to the NE then they tend to all swim southwest towards Montello right? I am asking because that means they would not be on the other side of Puckaway at the outlet that is by Wicks Landing and the Princeton Locks until after they have spawned out, right? I ask this because I was thinking of fishing the Fox and wanted to understand where they head during the spawn.
Walleye are up in the flume
