I posted on Sturgeon Bay thread Friday, sorry about that. Fished Ephraim area from State park launch Saturday 5-3 (pulled into marina during thunder) and caught around 20 bass mostly on tubes 16-23 ft with some on crawler slippbobber/deadstick. Looked on the maps for changes in depth and stayed in one spot. Today I launched at Tennison and went south 6-11am and caught around 10 and a monster drum 16-20 ft some small, some decent, none on tubes, very slimy weedy so I went with ned rig and kalins grubs.  I 'm never brave or stupid enough to head out to islands or shoals with just the trolling motor on the inflatable. Had something take my grub and head off like a freight train and finally broke off when I tried stopping it, I should have let it spool me. I'm thinking super monster drum, but will never know.  Great final hurah weekend, summer's over for me, teachers report tomorrow..

Caught my biggest smallmouth in about five years this morning. Fished for an hour. Caught two more after that. Big fish was in that three to four pound range. Spot open to public. Back in Madison tomorrow. Rat.

Hey guys. I'm going to be staying just over a week up in Ellison Bay this coming May 18-26th and would like to take the boat up and do some walleye fishing. I am very aware that Sturgeon Bay is top notch for walleye fishing but are there any good opportunities up further north in Door County? (Sister Bay, Ephraim?) I don't want to have to travel down to SB each time I want to fish. I have heard some good things about the Fish Creek area but don't know if those are just rumors or not. I am open to any suggestions from lure presentations to locations or any knowledge that will help me shorten my learning curve. Thank you to anyone that wants to help and if you would rather send an instant message that would be sweet too! Thank you!

PM me if you prefer.

Just got back from a week long vacation in Door County and had a blast. Caught a 3.5 pound bass on my second cast of the trip on a spinnerbait and it never slowed down. We mainly fished Ephraim, but also caught fish on the west side of the islands outside of Sister Bay (all in 2-7 feet of water). We met my sister and her family up there and I was able to get everyone out at some point for some fun. Here are a few picks of the kids with their fish. Thanks to G Loomis (aka Greg) who was nice enough to respond to my message and point me in the right direction since it was my first trip up to the bay. And thanks to the nice group of guys at the launch who helped me out when my outboard took a dump on me (funny how one 20 amp fuse can cause so much stress!!!).

Try fishing Washington Island for smallmouth on tubes or spinnerbaits
