Fished for just a couple hours earlier this week tossing Gulp around the island. Caught quite a few small gills around the island. One very large pumpkinseed but she was still full of eggs and I don’t like cleaning just one fish so threw it back.

Regarding the parking, in early Aug I attended a virtual Town of Eagle Board meeting. Parking at the lake was a topic. There have been weekends with the lot full plus trailers in the tavern’s lot (more trailers than customers) plus over 30 parked on E, some north of LO. This exceeds the safe boat capacity of the lake. Consideration was given to towing illegally parked vehicles so watch the signs. Not sure about the trailer-less parking spots. I also thought those were for canoe/kayak and have parked there several times when paddling to Lulu.
Igor, that’s the area he was watching. There were several vehicles without trailers so I’m curious if he really did ticket anybody or just warned them.
in past years I’ve parked there without issue but maybe this year is different with how busy the lakes are.
That's not true. There is a parking area off to the side for vehicles without trailers. Now if that was full, different story.
So I tried to canoe here last Sunday (August 9th) and was told by the Waukesha sheriff that the parking is for trailers only. I had my canoe in the back of the truck so i was not allowed to park. He stated that everyone without a trailer was getting a ticket that day. The signs state “parking for boat access users only”
I emailed the DNR for clarification but nothing yet. So for now it appears this launch is shut down for canoe or kayakers (unless you have a trailer)
Also, you can park at the pub if you are a customer. They have always been friendly and have good food so I’m sure they’d let you park for a couple hours if you decided to eat there.
Pier was not in as of 3/29/2020.
