I have fished the lake the last two mornings.  I caught and released a 26 inch Pike, seen several large mouths, but they are not biting.  The lake is still cold, and I have not seen any beds being made yet... might be a another week before things start to happen.

I have fished this lake a few times. Open and hard water. Not worth the hassle getting there open water. Not worth getting permission to ice fish it. Just my opinion. If your looking for an adventure great trip!

It's definitely not worth the effort getting to this small lake. With all the lakes in this area I would go elsewhere.

Nice. Did you put in on Waterville Rd. or Parry Road? I've been wanting to try Lad Lake for years, but I never have.

Went out to fish Waterville, but the 3 parking spots were full for once. So i floated my kayak down fom the next bridge to Ladd Lake. Nice relaxing paddle. Tried bass fishin first, with out much luck. 2 small largemouth. Did better fishing for pike, 3 legal size 26 - 31 inches, released. Lake drops off pretty swiftly from shore. The last 3 hrs, tried trolling the break with a slip bobber 8 to 10 ft down with Gulp micro minnows on a small chartreuse jig. Caught some nice 8 inch gills and a few crappie 10- 11 inches. Just out having fun, so all fish released.Saw 4 nice trout in the creek on the way down and back. Biggest was around 14 inches

Andy,

I 'spose for the adventure of thru paddling and fishing on 2 lakes and then taking out at a different point than I put in. It would probably involve 2 cars or a bike shuttle. That's the kind of things this kid thinks about in his free time.

Why don't you just use the launch on Hunter's Lake?

Sheriff Taylor,

I paddled from Parry road to Waterville Road on Sunday to see if I could make it and the way was clear for my 12 foot canoe. I had to manuever thru at least one down tree but it was not too difficult and did not require a pullover. I kept all rods tucked into the canoe to prevent snappage. The parking and unloading seemed more straight forward to me at Parry Road but I would like to paddle thru from above Dutchman to Hunter someday.

Have any one of you guys put in on Waterville Road recently to get to Dutchman Lake? When I passed there about a week ago, there was a huge tree lying over the creek. If the tree is gone, is the route that way any better?
